The Blood Of Christ 2

Many individuals and churches have a distaste for the mention of the blood of Christ. They purchase hymn books that do not mention blood at all or very little. They do those things because they do not want to recognize the horrible nature of their sin. A horrible price had to be paid for horrible sin. If you are an individual like that or if you prefer a church like that, you have some repenting to do. We are seldom willing to repent of sin and stop committing it if we believe that it is not really very bad. We need to recognize how evil it is. There is nothing that can give us an understanding of how horrible our sin is more than considering the horrible price that had to be paid for it.

Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death; . . .

Romans 5:6, 8 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

If we do not receive Jesus and His substitutionary payment for our sins, we will be required to pay that for ourselves. Without the shedding of Jesus* blood, nothing good would ever come from God to lost and sinful souls.

Hebrews 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
